About Us

Our academy is founded on the pillars of faith, discipline, integrity, honor, respect, friendship, and family. We incorporate values and principles through the martial art, sport, and lifestyle of jiu-jitsu to help increase both the physical and mental developments of each student. Through practice students grow, mature, and learn all while having fun and building lifelong positive relationships with not only others but also themselves. Fight Sports strives for excellence in personal development, teamwork, leadership and demonstrating responsible behaviors/manners on and off the mat. We believe in a conduct of sportsmanship, humility and dignity in pursuit of our goals.

Over the next few years, he continued training at various academies around the Atlanta area while continuing to keep his rank under Master Todd Cutler. In 2016 with the support of team Fight Sports, Layton and his wife Monica opened Canton Bjj (Fight Sports Cherokee).

Over the past 12 years, Layton has primarily been interested in sport/comp style BJJ and has competed at every belt from white to black across many rule sets and organizations, everything from local tournaments, IBJJF comps, to Pro Super-fights. Since opening the academy, he has developed a new passion in BJJ which is bringing the best out of his students.

“Winning a tournament or fight is definitely a great feeling after putting in hard work, but helping my students achieve major goals such as weight loss, building confidence, and of course winning comps has become one of the most rewarding facets of BJJ over the past few years for sure!”.
